Obit of John H Hendricks
John H Hendricks, after an illness reaching back for several years, died of kidney trouble and other complications, Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock, January 20, 1903 aged 80 years.
Deceased was one of the pioneers of this county, and was highly respected and esteemed by all who knew him. When the writer first met him early in the sixties he was strong and vigorous in manhood but during the later years of his life bodily ailments kept him close to his home most of the time. His visits to Memphis were rare the last few years. Last May he took his bed and patiently awaited the final message. When it came the weary soul was ready to be freed. He had been an ardent church member for years and rejoiced always in the hope of a blessed immortality beyond the grave. The full fruition of his hope has been realized and the faithful old servant is at rest now in a realm where afflictions are unknown. Funeral services were held yesterday forenoon, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the cemetery.

- I have been doing family genealogy for about 40 years. I have been working on my mom's side of the family and I have recently changed over to my dad's lines. I know there are others out there working on some of these lines. I hope to be able to expand it in this blog in the future as my work progresses.
